My Top 5 KDrama Recommendations

Like so many people all around the world, I was also one to fall victim to the charm and wonders of the KDrama world. From their awesome acting skills to their story plots, their wardrobes to cars. Each time I came across a potentially addictive drama, I got more and more thrilled. And then I decided, why don't I share my favorite shows with you guys! I'm hoping anyone whose new to this world whose so willingly stumbled onto my blog will watch these shows and possibly fall in love with the characters too like I have.

So here is my list of my favorite KDramas, The order doesn't matter. Feel free to watch any of them at any time.

1.  Boys Over Flowers (2009)

Cast :

Ku Hye-sun as Geum Jan-di

Lee Min-ho as Gu Jun-pyo

Kim Hyun-joong as Yoon Ji-hoo

Kim Bum as So Yi-jung

Kim Joon as Song Woo-bin

Kim So-eun as Ga Eul

Story Review :

It's an engaging story about a poor girl, Geum Jan Di who manages to attract the attention of the haughty prince group at her new school, called the F4. Rich, handsome, and arrogant, Gu Jun Pyo (Lee Min-ho), Yoon Ji Hoo (Kim Hyun-joong), So Yi Jung (Kim Bum), and Song Woo Bin (Kim Joon) are the kings of the school and no one, not even the teachers, dare challenge them. As the drama progresses you get to see how Gu Jun Pyo and Geum Jan Di unravel the realities of elite community and fall in love. I love this show very very much. This was the first KDrama I watched and I totally recommend it!

2. Playful Kiss (2010)

Cast :

 Jung So-min as Oh Ha-ni

Kim Hyun-joong as Baek Seung-jo

Lee Tae-sung as Bong Joon-gu

Lee Si-young as Yoon Hae-ra

Story Review :

Oh Ha-Ni is a clumsy high school student who has had a crush on the school's popular genius Baek Seung Jo who despises girls like her. Fate intervenes and Ha Ni finds her self at Seung Jo's door step and from then on fun and disasters ensue. This is one of my personal favorite shows. It's just something about Seung Jo's cold persona and Ha Ni's air-headedness . If you liked Kim Hyun Joong in Boys Over Flowers (given that you've already watched it) you'll like this one even better!

3. The Heirs (2013)

Cast :

Park Shin-hye as Cha Eun-sang

Lee Min-ho as Kim Tan

Kim Woo-bin as Choi Young-do

Story Review :

The series follows a group of rich, privileged, and elite high school students as they are groomed to take over their families' business empires. These wealthy students seem to have everything under control, except their love lives. This story is rather intense, with a lot of melodrama that always had me on edge. Plus the amount of eye-candy! Kim Woo Bin as Choi Young-Do is just amazing. The cast is amazing and the general plot is fine, a little predictable to me though, but that's okay I think. You should watch it if you like high school romances!

4. Pinocchio (2014)

Cast :

Lee Jong-suk as Choi Dal-po/Ki Ha-myung

Park Shin-hye as Choi In-ha

Kim Young-kwang

Lee Yu-bi as Yoon Yoo-rae

Story Review :

A sweet, feel-good coming-of-age romantic comedy from the writer-director team behind the drama I Hear Your Voice, this series centers around young adults getting their first jobs as broadcast news reporters. Park Shin-hye stars as the heroine with fictional "Pinocchio syndrome," where she can't tell a lie without hiccupping, and Lee Jong-seok co-stars as her fake adopted uncle. It's not as weird as it sounds. They grow up together and face the challenges of investigative journalism as rivals for different stations, forging friendships and finding love along the way. The chemistry between Jong Suk and Shin Hye is amazing. I would totally recommend this one!

5. Doctor Stranger (2014)

Cast :

Lee Jong-suk as Park Hoon

Jin Se-yeon as Song Jae-hee / Han Seung-hee

Park Hae-jin as Han Jae-joon / Lee Sung-hoon

Kang So-ra as Oh Soo-hyun

Story Review :

For all those medical geeks out there! This is one hell of a show. As a child, Park Hoon (Lee Jong-suk) and his father Park Cheol (Kim Sang-joong) were tricked and sent to North Korea. In North Korea, Park Hoon was trained to become a doctor by his father who was already a famous doctor. Park Hoon became a genius thoracic surgeon. He deeply fell in love with Song Jae-hee (Jin Se-yeon) in his high school. Somehow on their way back to South Korea, they get separated. In South Korea, Park Hoon begins to work as doctor in a top hospital Myungwoo University Hospital. Meanwhile, he found a girl that looks exactly like Jae-hee, Doctor Han Seung-hee, who claimed to not know Park Hoon. The drama has it all, anticipation, thrill, rommance, complications. Every surgery had me on the qui vive. Totally recommend it.

So there, that's my first post! Hope you guys like it. I'll update another one some times soon so stay tuned!
